I've been kinda in a Good Friday mood (Good Friday Mode?), so here's my ramblings:
This day
of all our hope the day when all
hope dies
Christ is on rood; we stained with sin
can only watch As human
and divine alike are crucified.
We crawl, we creep, we stand
around the world-tree's foot, Think on our grief
our losses
our own deadness now
While then
the healer's corpse is lowered
from the beam On which this unexpected
hero bore the weight Of all
the world
on his broad shoulders
outstretched arms.
The price
is paid for all
our faults, for everything We've sinned. and
what have we not done?
on earth?
In this
Man's broken body we
behold what we have done
To
Nature our own sister
to each other and
Ourselves as well. But with the slaying
of this last
Strange passach lamb, our
debt is paid.
we only know This afternoon
that he our ransom gave
morning
We go our way thankful
for this great
sacrifice. As yet
we cannot feel
the power and the
joy Of shattered tomb,
and risen
lord whose glorious life Brings all
our
lives through death
to rise with him.
