So I was ironing a shirt a few days ago, and came up with the idea of throwing an idea I’ve been thinking of for a long time out to the general (or not so general) public.
Anyway:
If we were to make a radical change in formal attire in our culture, what would we change it to?
Me, I’m of course voting for a sort or neo-medieval look: high-necked fitted tunic, belt optional, with some sort of elaborate fastening (at wearer’s discretion), worn over non-pressed trousers.
(Thus I’d be wearing an embroidered tunic in light-weight green fleece, with a zipper at the upper part, the toggle of the zipper being gold, with semi-precious stones; worn over tan knee pants and boots. Or maybe jeans. Frogging, elaborate buttons, or sashes would also be tunic-fastening options.)
But what would the rest of you vote for? Togas? Star Trek style jumpsuits?
I’m thinking primarily of men’s fashion, but I’ll take ideas on either, or plans to combine them.
