We spent TG in Portland and the vicinity, with my Dad and Dan. The weekend featured spectacular dinners and odd sleep schedules.
And way too much time in transit.
You see, we got burned the last time we drove up to Maine, and so decided to take the train. Problem: the obvious train to Boston arrived approximately forty minutes before the Downeaster left, and in between we had to haul our luggage across Boston...so if the train was at ALL late, or there were ANY problems with the T, we were screwed. Hence: we took a later train, and had an endless layover, which we decided to spend visiting friends. (Naturally, all the trains were on time...)
