Sunday it was suddenly ^%%&#^!* freezing (and you know it's cold when *I'm* complaining about it.) Peter *wanted* to head to the playground after Dad had us over for a second breakfast of pancakes, but fairly rapidly changed his mind; and then later got rather chilled on the trip home.

Monday featured the geek club getting together to work on creative projects at the pub. While a cool idea in theory, it turns out that trying to combine these activities does not work well in practice, leaving me, at least, feeling rather frustrated.

Tuesday we woke up to snow. yay! (Or was that Monday?) I spent too much of yesterday procrastinating on getting a translation project done.

Today...yeah, more procrastination. sigh. Tho I also made oatmeal bread for tomorrow, graded a short essay, and sang in a poorly-attended Thanksgiving service. (Poorly attended due the day-long rainstorm, along with the usual reasons.) People missed a rather good sermon/exercise on thankfulness as a practice. Something I really do need to work on...

So I guess I'm thankful for...mountains, and the fact that Portland is still pretty cool, and snow (God send us more!). And the numerous ways things could be worse, but aren't. (That's a pretty half-hearted way to be grateful.)
*Actively*, I guess I'm chiefly grateful for my friends,* a large number of whom, at these point, are the people who read these blogs. So Hi there, friends! You rock. I do not see most of you nearly often enough.

Happy Thanksgiving and/or Hanukkah and/or Advent to all...

* "Even one good friend is a great thing," my neighbor in choir remarked to me, as we were discussing this. *He* was thankful to have a functioning kidney.
