In other news, COVID levels are up to, yikes, 550 Bobcat-Robots.

COVID Levels (as of 4/3): 230 Bobcat-Robots. Yay!

Practically bloody noone here in Sheffield is wearing masks. I am HOPING that this is a reflection on a robust and successful pandemic prevention strategy, and not of the whole nation just deciding "Fuck it."

Anyway. Walked around Sheffield a bit today: finally saw the cathedral, and bought some of my brother's laundry list of stuff he'd like from England. And also figured out which things that mom wants to give me I can actually cram into my suitcase. Had venison for dinner (nom).

COVID Levels (as of Monday): 900 Bobcat-Robots, which isn't good, but is less dire than I'd feared.

(ETA: It was probably more like 1100, but the general point stands?)

Covid Levels: Up, to 620 Bobcat-Robots.

Today, I planned to get a PCR test.
It turned out to be more complicated than I was expecting, because
a) The back tire on my bike was starting to go flat, which would have been solvable except
b) it turns out that my tire pump is ALSO dead (probably frozen to death.) :(
So I had to drive. And then
c) I'd forgotten that Cataldo's testing site doesn't open til noon on Saturdays, so I had to make the drive TWICE.
(Fortunately, it's a short drive, but it features horrible one-way systems, inevitable traffic around Assembly and/or Wellington, and then a THING which is like an unholy grafting together of a cloverleaf, a traffic circle, and a jughandle.)

COVID Status: Rapid test negative again, still coughing.
General status: Pissed off that I (probably) can't go to Advent Sunday, running club, or shopping.

I am giving up, and embracing my self-quarantining by having Thai food delivered. Hopefully some nice Vesuvian soup will help.

The good news is: I guess my sense of smell is coming back.
The bad news is: I can tell because I an smell the stuffing that one of my neighbors is cooking downstairs, and so now I'm extra-sad about No Turkey For You.

I'm going to go for a walk now.

(ETA: I guess that means that pie might actually taste good?)

Covid Levels: Inching upwards, but inching: Still about 400 Bobcat-Robots.

[ETA: It looks it was probably more like 600, up from a low of 500]

COVID Levels: Actually down to less than 700 Bobcat-Robots, as of yesterday.
choco_frosh: (Default)
Local COVID Levels: c. 700 Bobcat-Robots.

[ETA: It was probably more like 1000]

Ugh, booster side effects.

COVID levels: up to about 700 Bobcat-Robots.

My brother apparently got COVID this week.
However, I'm still COVID-negative (well, as of yesterday).
On third hand, local COVID levels are back up to about 600 Bobcat-Robots*.

COVID-Negative, again!

OTOH, COVID Levels, per MWRA BioBot (N.Syst., approx.) : 1000

COVID-Negative, again. I guess I just have the cold that's been going around.
(Or a moderately bad allergy attack, though since the symptoms have progressed from sore throat to stuffed nose, I suspect it's the former.)

COVID Levels, per MWRA BioBot (N.Syst., approx.) : 900

Sore throat. It's almost certainly allergies (with the 90 degree temperatures over the weekend, everything is blossoming); but just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna skip practice tonight, and haul my butt out to Everett again tomorrow for a PCR test.
:(

COVID Levels, per MWRA BioBot (N.Syst., approx.) : 950?
