choco_froshToday is St. Thomas' Day in the Western Church. Grace and I started celebrating early (comm' e degno) with a choir party last night. "Let's keep it simple this year--just cookies!" they said. Yeesh. I thought this meant "fairly minimal". I woke up this morning thinking I would never want to eat sugar again...
And a happy solstice (ok, in half an hour) to all you pagans!

maddy_harrigan and catilinarian had their flight canceled, and therefore will not reach their respective families 'til late tomorrow. poo. And the same goes for several other people's nearest and dearest. So everyone else, wish them safe and speedy flights, whenever they finally get to board!
And so the Shortest Day came and the year died
And everywhere down the centuries of the snow-white world
Came people singing, dancing,
To drive the dark away.
