- I should look up the details on the U.K. election results, though from what I'm hearing, it doesn't sound like anyone here is going to like them much...

- Broke down and actually BOUGHT A Closed and Common Orbit Thursday; have spent waayy too much of the intervening time reading it.

- I seem to have found someone to replace one of the bell parts at Church of the Advent, which is good. I seem to have been suckered into helping him make it, which is less good, especially since I haven't done woodworking since I was, ooo, 12.

I'm here, and I like some of the results very much (not that it's any of my business). Record high number of women MPs. Two MPs with disabilities. Record high number of Muslim MPs. Very high rate of turnout among young people. The Tory alliance with the DUP is shocking, but we'll see. The pound didn't drop as much as I'd hoped (a British economist friend of Arthur's predicted a drop no matter what the election results), but since that hope is because it's almost time to renew the RW, it's a bit unfair of me to expect the international currency market to shift just to save us a few bucks on our subscription.

They would have had my vote, as entrancing as voting for a plaid party might have been.
I spent several minutes actually laughing out loud at the image of Theresa May edging away from Lord Buckethead (one of her opponents), but I don't know that having candidates like that on a ballot is useful.

The Tories allying with the DUP is terrible, although it looks as though it's going to cost May whatever support or credibility she has remaining, which is fine. The part where Labour made enormous gains and people younger than we are actually turned out to vote is great.
