Confidential to S.:

I am worried that *I* now have both the clothes-eating moths and the Lurgi. There are holes in my favorite sweaters, and I've had a low-grade sore throat since yesterday. I am hoping that the former is just random wear and tear (although I am not sanguine), that the latter is just a cold symptom, and especially that if I'm wrong, I manage to avoid spreading them to other people.
And that the preventative measures I took on Monday, involving ginger tea and hanging everything outside for twelve hours of sub-freezing temperatures, will stop whatever it is in its tracks.

I don't think you would have liked the drunk mythology pub crawl: it was too loud and crowded even for me. But I am glad that it exists, and I may still go back next year, armed with more stories.

*hugs* from the distance of the internet.

If you have moths, in addition to holes you will find live or dead larvae, live or dead moths, shed remnants of cocoons, and a truly disgusting quantity of moth droppings mixed in with or on your clothes. We started opening drawers and turning over blankets and it was not subtle. That was the sole bright sie. The best killer of clothes moths is a hot dryer cycle, because it dessicates them. This is ass if you have coin-op laundry like we do, but if yours is free, just hot-wash and dry everything that will survive it.

I'm glad the drunk mythology pub crawl was worth going to, even if I agree it's fine that I missed it.

If you want to save anything that can't be tumble-dried on hot, put it in the freezer for at least a month.

I'm pretty sure they sell chunks of cedar to put in drawers. Or, you could go with moth balls, and have your clothes smell strange for a while!
