- Inspected the clapper on the tenor yesterday. It looks like the problem MAY be that the bushing (leather, plastic or other sleave that insulates the clapper from the staple, which is the thing to which it's attached) may be coming loose/off-center/bulging out weirdly. Of course, we're trying to determine this by shining a light into a millimeter-wide gap, so we're going to have to take the clapper OUT even to find out...
Austin also did the swing-check on the #7 for comparison, revealing (a) yup, the tenor clapper is significantly stiffer, and (b) it's possible that the other bells don't have bushings at all--it was squeaking like an abused donkey (though that was party the damp. It was suddenly above 60 yesterday, after a weekend of snow, and so...)

- Now have a piece of cardboard for the skylight project. Now I just need to remember what those dimensions were...!

- Possibly replace the rope on the #4 with the one in the rope chest that Eddie spliced?

I know so little about material science that I can't see why the damp would cause the squeak.

I take it this means you didn't catch Peter's flu. :-)
