Life's little ironies

choco_frosh1) Right before I wrote my PREVIOUS post...I discovered that one of my roommates' car ALSO didn't feel like starting. (He seems to have managed to get away with just replacing the battery, though.)
2) While it felt weird to be about the only person of my immediate friends in Boston who WASN'T going to the Burns Dinner, if I'd still been on the list I would have been very late: My train last night was twenty minutes late.*
3) And of course I drank too much** and stayed up to late anyway.
* Allegedly because...lemme get this straight...the OUTBOUND train at the same time was delayed? Is there some rule that these two trains have to pass each other every day, lest the Train Gods awaken? Or did they do that already, and that's the real reason the Red Line apparently wasn't working either?
** By which I mean "I had a couple of sips of whisky in ADDITION to a beer!" OK, so maybe that doesn't count.
