Unnecessary FAQ

Questions I keep asking even though I know the answer, because the answers aren't satisfying:*
Why am I cold?
Because it's cold in here.
Why is the apartment cold?
Because it's cold out, and we keep the thermostat fairly low for obvious reasons, and also the thermostat is a filthy liar, and the apartment is badly insulated and so leaks heat, which makes it feel even colder than it actually is, and it's 45 degrees and raining outside.
Why does the skin on my hands keep disintegrating?**
Because it's cold, AND because it's cold you're wearing scratchy sweaters a lot, AND you keep neglecting to wear dishwashing gloves.
* Or satisdactying.
** That may sound overly alarming: I'm just talking about my usual seasonal eczema-like thing.

Date: 2020-04-03 01:14 pm (UTC)...I mean, I've got stuff. Hydrocortisone creme works well, but isn't a good idea to do regularly; and I have moisturizers, but any that don't make my skin feel sticky and/or slimy. Honestly, in some ways what I find most effective is hand sanitizer, because the alcohol makes it stop itching (and so keeps me from scratching til I bleed), and the moisturizer prevents this process from making my skin worse; and its engineered to get absorbed/evaporate so your skin doesn't feel gross afterwards.
What do you mean by scratchy sweaters?
...Really, any sweater at all, but especially my super-warm LL Bean one. That kind of wool seriously abrades my skin if they get in direct contact (e.g., around my wrists), and sometimes seemingly also even through a layer of other material.
This is why I hated sweaters as a kid.
