Realm: Lists! Subrealm: End of a tour
Sep. 22nd, 2005 02:49 pmSo tomorrow I'll leave Regensburg for Konstanz. I'll be a little sad to go: it's a cool city, and there are still (hard to believe) a few things I haven't seen: the surviving bits of city defences around the Ostentor, and Dokument Neupfarrplatz (excavations of the medieval Jewish quarter), for example. But all good things must come to an end. My computer has been de-registered (though hopefully that won't go into effect til this post is done), my bank account has, for complicated reasons, been closed, my bags are (partly) packed. And at least the course will be going out with a bang with yet another potluck party this evening.
So as our language course draws to a close, some ratings...
Mad props to:
Our Betreuer, since while Clara can be rather abrupt and Julia can’t stop talking, their endless patience and helpfulness in organizing trips, supplying us with caffein, helping us adjust to life in Germany, and generally providing conversation and entertainment truly made the course.
Also to Micha Haberkorn and Stefan Kampe, for their tireless efforts and patience in drilling Grammatik and German Literature into our heads…and also to Tobias Kaiser, since while I didn’t learn all that much in conversation, the Schnitzeljagd and the Weißwurstfrühstück were toll.
And to:
Doppelkeks
Zwetschen
The Haus der Parität, Frankfurt
The Hotel Anatol, Vienna
The Getränk-Markt at Netto
Bayerntickets
Sarik (for all your mediterranean vegetable needs)
TC, Amanda and Xavier, for mobile entertainment
and the city of Regensburg
No points for:
Gesslerheim
Netto
Having “Hollaback Girl” stuck in one’s head for weeks on end
Living in one place for six weeks: too long to live on restaurant food, not long enough to want to buy anything.
This £$%^& version of Word. Who thought being unable to delete highlighted text was a good idea?
